About Everyday Privacy

Everyday Privacy is a reference for reasonable, safer default settings in the software and devices most people already use.

It is not a security tool, a startup, a dashboard, or an activist project. There are no extreme threat models here, and no pressure to "disappear from the internet."

How to use this site

This site is designed for occasional visits - maybe once a quarter, or when you get a new device or hear about a privacy change. Browse the guide for a product you use, check the recommended settings, and adjust what makes sense for you.

Accuracy and currency

Each guide shows when it was last reviewed. Software changes often, so some details may become outdated between reviews. This is disclosed clearly. If a guide is significantly outdated, it will be marked as such.

Built to be easy to read and well-structured for search engines.
